Our daughter-in-law, Catrin is now about 3 weeks into her consolidation phase of chemotherapy, which includes Arsenic Trioxide and ATRA. While the toxic combination promises to eventually bring her to complete remission, there is a long struggle ahead for her to reach that point. Her red blood count is lower than it should be, according to her oncologist, which means very low energy and possibly more transfusions. Please continue to pray for her and Joel as they go through this battle together.
If you can afford to make a donation of any amount, their good friends J and Erin Hawkins have set up a GoFundMe page to help them with the mounting expenses:
They are also hosting a fundraiser for Catrin at our shop on October 24th. We are accepting auction items for this event. There will be homemade BBQ chicken, Kreuz sausage, rice and beans and a dessert, all for a minimum donation of $8, until it all runs out. Our BBQ chefs will be David's uncle and cousin, Pete and Peter Martinez, who are donating the use of their pit and their labor to help our family support Catrin and Joel through this.
